I certainly do not feel that I deserve a

"Mother Of The Year" award

for the photo that I am about to share with you.....

but I am also pretty sure that I am not the first mother to discover

that her child was actually sweating in their carseat

while she felt perfectly comfortable in the very same car.

Yes, that is sweat that can be seen pooling all around my poor baby's head!

Since the temperature inside the car seemed pretty comfortable to me, I guess I just assumed that my little guy was comfortable too.  

I didn't consider the fact that the air-conditioner vents were not aimed at him (since he was rear-facing), that his carseat restricted the airflow around him or that his little rashguard (swim suit top) was not made of breathable fabric. 

I was also not really aware of the fact (and maybe you weren't either) that children's thermoregulatory systems are not as efficient as an adult's and their body temperatures warm at a rate 3 to 5 times faster than an adult’s.

Poor little guy was not old enough to say, "Mommy, I'm Hot!"

I felt just awful when I realized how much he was sweating & immediately took of his little swim shirt.  But even without his shirt on (though a little cooler) he still continued to sweat.

It was then that it dawned on me...

The summer had only just begun, the temperatures were still rising....things were only going to get worse! I was going to have to find something to keep my little guy cool in his carseat if we were going to survive the Hot Hot Summer ahead.

We received a Carseat Liner (sent free of charge for this review) in the "Quick Silver" color to fit Bresden's carseat.

I was anxious to install the liner & see if it made a difference.

I took a temperature reading inside the car just for fun when I went out to install it.

I should mention that it was actually on the cool-side in the morning & it was already reading 113 inside the car. Yikes!

I am pleased to tell you that it was super quick & easy to install & it really seems to work.  The 3 Layer design of the liner allows warm air to escape, preventing overheating and perspiring keeping little ones cool and comfortable.

No more peeling sticky wet clothes away from my little guy's back & no more wet stains in his carseat from his sweaty little head.

Plus, it protects your carseat from stains. It is machine washable & so much easier to remove for laundering than the entire carseat cover.

CSN Stores Make Feeding Time Easy.....

Do you remember me telling you about

Well the time has come.....

Bresden had his first taste of rice cereal on Thanksgiving Day while we were in California.

So we were finally able to try out the

Boon Squirt Baby Food Dispensing Spoon in Orange

The Boon Squirt...

I had actually never used a Boon Squirt before this but I have actually given them as gifts. My sister-in-law raved about them and I went all over town looking for them when I needed a baby gift (this was before I knew about CSN Stores).  I could have saved myself a lot of time and energy if I had known about CSN Stores back then. 
Anyways, I was pretty excited to finally try it out and I liked it even more than I had expected....which says a lot because my expectations were pretty high.

To use the Boon Squirt you just pour food in the handle, screw on the spoon, squeeze and feed.
Then just toss it in the dishwasher!

It really is that simple!
There is even a cap in case he doesn't finish it all.
According to my sister-in-law you can dump an entire jar of baby food into it at once.

A Little Tip: When filling the Boon Squirt....I found that I could scrape all of the food into the handle easier if I set the handle in an empty cup... then it was sitting upright and I had both hands free...one to hold the bowl or jar and  one to scrape the food into it with a spoon.

I actually thought that I would mainly just use the Boon Squirt for feedings on the go but I have been using it at home for every feeding since I first tried it.
Definitely going to be getting some more of these!

It makes feeding him so much easier and cleaner too as I am not dripping food on the way to his mouth.

Baby Bjorn Soft Bib...

I had actually used a Baby Bjorn Soft Bib before this.  A family that I babysat for had one and I really liked it.  You really only need to have one of these at home because you just rinse it off and it is ready to be used again.  With fabric bibs you have to have a bunch because they have to be laundered. Another benefit to it not being fabric is that it won't start looking dingy and stained the way that fabric bibs do when they are used again and again.
 I love that it has a food catcher...great for catching drips now and pieces of food that would end up on the floor (when he is older).
